Ram 3500 Diesel

The 3500 is a worthy competitor with good ride, comfortable interior and good towing capacity. There is a faint diesel chatter when on the highway at full throttle. The diesel engine is fairly strong and good enough for most situations; however torque is reduced when mated to a manual transmission. The 3500 does not get the adjustable ride height feature which is found on its little brother the 1500.

  • Electronic stability control, hill-start assist
  • New active-intake airbox
  • 6.7-liter Cummins turbo-diesels with 370 hp and 800 lb-ft of torque
  • Wi-Fi hotspot

GMC Sierra 3500

The 2014 Sierra may look a lot like previous years as the frame, suspension and engine components were last revamped in 2011. This vehicle is very competent and fairly easy to drive. However, cabin storage in the 3500 HD is pretty much run-of-the-mill. The engine construction is still gray iron as opposed to lighter and stronger compacted graphite iron as found in the 2014 Ford Power Stroke Diesel.
