ENGINE OIL AND FILTER SERVICE

• Includes recommended Motorcraft oil and filter

MULTI-POINT INSPECTION

• Check and top up fluid levels:

• Check tire air pressure and wear in all tires, including spare

• Check exhaust system for leaks, damage, loose parts and foreign material

• Check battery performance

• Check operation of horn, exterior lamps, turn signals and hazard warning lights

• Check radiator and coolant condition, coolers, heater and air conditioning hoses

• Check windshield washer spray and wiper operation

• Inspect accessory drive belts for proper tension, cracking and chunking

• Inspect air cleaner filter

• Inspect half shaft dust boots (if equipped)

• Check and lubricate steering, suspension, ball joints, drive shaft U -joints and slip yoke (if serviceable)

INSPECT TIRES FOR WEAR AND ROTATE

• Inspect tires for wear regularly and rotate every 10,000 km (City delivery vehicles and other unique applications may require more frequent tire rotation. See your dealership for more details.)

• For externally mounted spare tire carrier check for damage and air pressure, and secure.

BRAKE INSPECTION/SERVICE

• Inspect caliper operation, connections, wheel cylinders, and self adjuster

• Clean and lubricate caliper slide rails and backing plates (if serviceable)

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE SERVICE

• Inspect and lubricate linkage and controls

• Replace pan gasket (if filter is internal) and filter (when under "Special Operating Conditions")

• Change fluid

• If your vehicle is equipped with one of the following transmissions or if you operate your vehicle in any of the "Special Operating Conditions" (regardless of the type of transmission), the trans­mission service is required every 50,000 km (instead of 250,000 km). Transmissions requiring fluid change every 50,000 km (and oil and filter, if used under "Special Operating Conditions") are as follows:

  AX4N, AX4S, 4F50N (Taurus/Sable, Windstar, Continental), 4F27E (Focus), 4R100 + 5R100W (E/F Series, Expedition, Excursion, Navigator, Blackwood ), A4LD (Aerostar), 4R70W - 1996-2001. (Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, E/F Series, Expedition, Navigator, Mustang, Thunderbird/Cougar RWD (1996-1997), Explorer (5.OL), Mark VIII, Town Car), 4EAT (1996-1997 Probe 2.5L).  See your dealer for additional information and recommendations.

REAR AXLE AND POWER TAKE-OFF MAINTENANCE

• Change fluid if service is required or the axle assembly has been submerged in water

• If used under "Special Operating Conditions", change fluid every 100,000 km

Inspect SPARK PLUGS

• Inspect platinum spark plugs every 50,000 km on all 2000 year models and prior 1.9LSPI,2.OLSPI,Z.3L,2.SL,3.OL2V,3.8L,4.OL,4.2L,4.9L,S.OL, S.SL&7.SL
